We're going to the Olympics!

We did it! We qualified the Netherlands for the Olympic Games! It still feels unreal that my dream of going to the Olympics came true. Couldn't have done it without the support of family, friends, the federation, my sponsors and so many more.
From 10 - 20 August 1200 sailors competed for the first Olympic tickets right at my homespot in Scheveningen. It was an once in a lifetime experience to have the second most important competition of these 4 years with my family and friends cheering from the beach. In Formula Kite, the top 8 countries would win a spot at the Olympic Games 2024 with France excluded since they already have their spot as hosting country.
After 6 days and 17 races I finished the event in 6th place, and as 4th country. My best result in this Olympic discipline so far, securing the Olympic Ticket for the Netherlands, and proud of my progression which got my closer to the top 5, and eventually the medals! I've been over the moon with all the support from all over, it really made it so much more special. As an atlethe, the focus is always on doing better, thinking about the next step towards the goal. But right now I'm taking a moment to enjoy this milestone! Much love for all your suppport.
