I couldn’t be more happy with winning the wildcard video contest for the Triple S invitational and having the oppurtinity to compete in the biggest wakestyle event of the year. It was challenging to compete in my first wakestyle event with barely any experience of riding features with a kite, but it was a great experience. I ended up with a 5th place and was more motivated than ever to train in the best kite park in the world located in the Columbia River, Hood River, called the Slider Project.
SOOOO happy to win the Wildcard for the Triple S invitational. The Triple S invitational is the biggest kiteboard competition in the US where the best 24 men and 8 women compete in a wakestyle format. Every year there is one wildcard for the women, which you can win by submitting a video with your best tricks on the features. I’m really honored to be able to compete in this prestigious event beginning of June.
Here is my wildcard video, for more information check out the website of the event; www.triplesinvitational.com
“We are traveling the world looking for the best kiteboarding spots, but what we found in Kenya was better than any spot in the world. Besides flat water, good waves and wind everyday, Kenya offers amazing nature with incredible wildlife, as well as the most friendly people in the world.
Unfortunately there is also a big part of the population that is less fortunate than us and we decided to give something back to this beautiful place. We got in contact with the Sunrise School that offers an education for orphans and kids from the poorest families. We brought a lot of clothes from home to give to the kids and we raised money to buy pens, books, notebooks and also balls and jumping ropes to support this amazing project. This is the first project of many that we will support with Kite for Kids”
